I come from a working class family. At the age of 12, I started my first job as a produce boy at a "Mom-and-Pop" grocery store. I later became a member of the Retails Clerk Union and the Teamsters. I understand how an interruption to a paycheck can be devastating to a household or how an injury can turn a family upside down.
After graduating from The John Marshall Law School, and being accepted to the Illinois Bar Association in 1988, I began my practice with the law firm of Scheele, Cornelius and Associates. Our firm represented injured workers throughout Northern and Central Illinois. After seven years of intense training and proving myself as a skilled attorney, I became a partner.
Following the unfortunate loss of my mentor and partner due to an automobile accident, I started my own firm in 1999. Today, I am still following the principles of aggressive and honest representation that were instilled in my practice in the beginning. I continue to represent injured workers in Central and Northern Illinois, as well as Chicago, Rockford and the surrounding suburbs. While Workers' Compensation is my primary law concentration, I also assist clients in the areas of Personal Injury and in obtaining Social Security Disability benefits when injury or illness prevents their ability to return to work.
